I AM A TOWN: Spokane Poetry Project with Laura Read

Wednesdays, Sept. 14 & 21 // 6 - 8 PM

In this workshop led by Spokane Poet Laureate Laura Read, we will write poems about specific places in Spokane that are significant to us because of the memories we have attached to them. We will also workshop these poems and then publish them in the second edition of I Am a Town, the book, so our individual memories of particular places together become our collective story of our town. The class will include example poems, generative exercises, feedback from a supportive community of writers, publication in a book, and an opportunity to share your work at a reading. It may also lead to your poem becoming a piece of public art!
