Spokane is Getting Creative

Did you hear that Spokane is in the midst of "an amazing artistic renaissance"? Well, we're here to let you in on the not-so-secret secret. In the video below, City Council President Ben Stuckart sits down with Karli and Caleb Ingersol (co-owners of The Barlett who recently shared their story of creativity at Taproot Speaker Series) to chat about all the awesome creative endeavors going on in Spokane. Although the whole video is worth watching, around minute 6 you can hear a little about one of our flagship programs, Girls Rock Lab, and hear our board president Jess Walter share what Spark Central is all about.

Do you notice that nearly all these opportunities--from Slam Poetry at Boots Bakery to Window Dressings via Terrain to an all-ages show at the Bartlett--are open to everyone? We at Spark Central believe everyone is creative and everyone should have the opportunity to explore their inner creativity, innovation, and imagination; that's the heart of what we're doing at Spark Central. Though all of these organizations are doing different things, we all support arts and creativity and we're so thankful to be in such inspiring company.
