Adults • Spark Central is excited to host Creative Mornings on Friday April 24th. CreativeMornings Spokane exists to celebrate and build a space where creativity, community, and conversation thrive together. Each event features a local speaker, free breakfast (because creative minds should have full bellies), and the chance to meet some really cool friends in our community. Registration is required, so please RSVP at https://creativemornings.com/talks/annika-eagle-on-ember

April’s theme is Ember.

Embers represent the quiet, enduring remnants of fire—what remains after the intensity fades. They carry a smoldering potential, a subtle strength that holds heat long after the flames have gone. As a quieter community outside the city, we may not always burn the brightest, but we never burn out. Our spark lives in reflection, resilience, and the space we have to pause, think, and grow.

In those calm moments, we find what many others miss: the steady glow of ideas, relationships, and dreams that don’t need noise to thrive. Embers remind us that even after challenges or change, something powerful remains—ready to reignite when needed. We hold that same quiet fire within ourselves, and in community with each other, we kindle more.

Together, we tend the quiet fire—fueling one another through presence, care, and shared warmth.

S P E A K E R: Annica Eagle is many things at once: community advocate, comedian, writer, magician, musician, and blacksmith.

By day, she works as a community engagement specialist for the Washington State Department of Commerce, connecting people to resources and opportunities across the state. Outside of her day job, she is a smithing instructor for Columbia Fire & Iron Blacksmiths, an arts nonprofit focused on expanding access to the craft, which recently completed a six-month residency at the Hive.

Annica has been an improviser with the Blue Door Theatre since 2015 and a comedy writer for shows including CONNORSversations. She founded Spokane’s premiere (and only) pun competition, The Punderground, in 2016, and has competed in the O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships since that year, earning 3rd punniest in the world (2017) and MVP (2018). Her punning world is featured in the award-winning documentary Punderneath It All (2023). She also made her stage debut as a magician/illusionist in The Mage and Sage in 2024.

A smith of both words and metal, Annica knows firsthand that keeping any fire alive takes intention, practice, and the right kind of fuel.
