Poetry Dojo with Mark Anderson

Thursdays, Jan. 28, Feb. 4, 11, and 18 // 6 - 8 PM

ADULTS & TEENS:  It's time to throw out the chalkboard for an interactive poetry playshop. We'll start by learning how to write by memory, training ourselves to write lines that stick, digging deep to find what needs to be remembered. From there we'll launch our journey into the tools poets use to create powerful work. Poetry Dojo isn't a class, it's a training session! Each lesson will only comprise half or less of the class with the rest of the time dedicated to writing, editing, and individual feedback. $40 includes all four sessions.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!

About the Teacher|  Mark Anderson lives half way up the South Hill of Spokane. He looks at the sun when it hides behind the clouds, even though he knows it can burn his eyes if he isn't careful. One sunny day he was awarded the Ken Warfel Fellowship for poets who have made substantial contributions to their communities. On another day he co-founded Broken Mic. Now, he will be training others in the magic of performance poetry.
