Tuesday, January 19 & 26 (attend both sessions) // 6 PM - 8 PM
This creative writing workshop with author Nance Van Winckel is open to poets and fiction writers. It’s the voice of a piece that so often makes it unique, fresh, original. (Gotta have attitude, baby!) We’ll look at how voice may arise out of character, and we’ll use some visual art to inspire us, specifically graffiti and murals, including some from Spokane. $10 includes both sessions.
About the Teacher | Nance Van Winckel's newest books are Ever Yrs., a novel in the form of a scrapbook, and Pacific Walkers, her sixth collection of poems and a finalist for the 2014 Washington State Book Awards. A book of visual poetry is forthcoming in 2016. The recipient of two NEA Poetry Fellowships, she is on the MFA faculty of Vermont College of Fine Arts and a Professor Emerita in EWU's Creative Writing Program.
