Spark Center and INK Art Space are merging! The new organization will announce its new name at a grand re-opening on July 29, 2016, at 10am. This all-day event lasts until 6pm and is free and open to the public.
We will have creative activities for kids and adults the entire day, so stop by and experience our new creative destination! Community members are invited to tell us about their creative “destination” and take their photo with our new logo. Those who post the image to Facebook or Instagram with a hashtag for our new name are entered for a chance to win two free adult workshops passes (up to $50 each in value) and a package of books written and signed by local authors, including Jess Walter, Sharma Shields, and many more.
HISTORY: The Golden Spike was the ceremonial final spike that joined the rails of the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States connecting the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads. The term "golden spike" has been used to describe the connection of two disparate origins towards a meeting point — perfect for the merge of INK and Spark Center!
