All Ages · Join instructor Justus Brozek and make art with the sun! Using paper treated with cyanotype solution, participants will set up designs with found items and practice one of the earliest forms of photography used most frequently for architectural blueprints. Prints can then be treated with tannins found in coffee, tea, and juice to change the dark blue prints to earth tones.

All Ages · Come on out to support Blitz & Blunders and Spark Central! Blitz & Blunders is hosting a community chess event at Manito Park's North Shelter. This is your open invitation to play a game, join a lesson, and purchase merchandise. All skill levels are welcome, and funds from this event will go toward supporting free Monday chess nights around Spokane, and Spark Central's mission to spark creativity for all.

Blitz & Blunders is teaming up with Spark Central to bring free, high-energy chess events to the community. Spark Central empowers youth, adults, and underserved groups through creativity, tech, and education. Together, we’re building a space where minds meet, creativity thrives, and everyone has a chance to grow through play.

The event will include free casual chess games for all ages and skill levels, along with mini tournaments and side matches for prizes. Coffee and Matcha will be available to purchase from Kapè Cha.

THURSDAYS · 4 - 6 PM

Grades 3-8 · Drop in to explore architecture, engineering, and art through Minecraft! Each session, participants will be given a building prompt related to one or more of these fields. Then, they'll work together to plan their build and join a Minecraft world to create it. Staff and volunteers will monitor games to ensure the safety of youth as they play.

All Ages · Come join our creative community for an open drawing / collaging / zine program. Different artistic mediums will be at your fingertips as you cultivate imaginative thinking. Learn how to make your very own 8-page mini-zine using a single piece of paper. Follow the prompt or come up with your own ideas. All skill levels are welcome, whether you’ve never drawn a doodle in your life or you’re a total pro. Supplies are provided - all you need to bring is your imagination.
