In Spark Central’s Taproot Speaker Series, Spokane cultural and community leaders entertain and inspire audiences with the story of how they came to do what they do today. December 6th's speaker is Sandra Williams, founder and editor of The Black Lense News. An audience Q&A follows every performance. Come sip wine with us and be inspired! Open to the public.
Sandra Williams is currently the Editor and Publisher of The Black Lens, the only African American focused newspaper in Eastern Washington. She is an activist, writer, filmmaker and grassroots organizer, with an extensive background and decades-long history in anti-oppression/anti-discrimination work, effectively using the mediums of film, video, theater, radio, and spoken word as tools to address the need for equity and social justice.
