Adults & Teens · Text and imagery can be combined into an artistic whole to create a powerful, expressive piece of art. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of poetry, short prose, and illustration. Students will apply these concepts to a piece of art that will combine their writing with an image that illustrates the text, or writing inspired by the image. The finished piece can be applied to other workshops in the Arts & Letters series. All materials will be provided.
Teachers: Doran Karahalios & Derrick Freeland
Arts & Letters workshops are a collaboration between Spark Central and Spokane Print & Publishing Center, both of which are super awesome creative nonprofits. Those who complete all four workshops in the series will receive 10 prints of their final product and be included in a First Friday art showcase of work on November 1st.
