We Need Diverse Books! Storytime with Local Authors

Sat. Dec. 16 // 10 AM

AGES 2 - 5 // Join us at for a special story time with local authors!

WE NEED DIVERSE BOOKS is a grassroots movement spearheaded by author Ellen Oh and 22 other children's book writers. The WNDB mission is to put "more books featuring diverse characters into the hands of all children" and their vision is of a world where every single child can see themselves in the pages of a book.

We're celebrating WE NEED DIVERSE BOOKS with a fun and engaging storytime at Spark Central. Books we'll read include Sherman Alexie's Thunder Boy, Jr., Matt de la Pena's Last Stop on Market Street, Rukhsana Khan's Big Red Lollipop, and Jacqueline Woodson's This is the Rope. In addition to reading, we'll sing and dance and end with a craft and playtime.

This is a family storytime free to all and ideal for preschool-aged children and younger elementary school kids.
