John and Christine, adored book owners of OPEN BOOKS and champions of poetry in Seattle, will give a reading from their works and answer questions about the “business” end of the poetry book world. Free and open to the public.
ABOUT THE POETS
Christine Deavel is co-owner of Open Books: A Poem Emporium and works as a patient and family liaison at Harborview Medical Center. Her collection Woodnote was published by Bear Star Press and received the Washington State Book Award in 2012.
J.W. Marshall co-owns Open Books. His poetry appeared most recently in the Seattle Times and The Volta and is forth-coming in Hubbub and Poetry Northwest. He is author of Meaning A Cloud, which won the Field Poetry Prize and was published by Oberlin College Press in 2008.
