Tue Feb 18 · 7 - 8:30 pm
Spokane-area artists are invited to gather for a night of making connections across disciplines to help each other apply for (and win!) major artistic grants. This first special session will focus on the Artist Trust Fellowship application (due March 9, 2020). We'll discuss how to speak the language of grants and how to stay resilient in the face of rejection. We'll work together to strategize, receive feedback, and help each other write our grant applications. Speakers include filmmaker Juan Más and visual artist Mariah Boyle, and representatives from Artist Trust. Food and beverages will be provided by Spokane Arts. This program is a collaboration between Spokane Arts, Spark Central, and Spokane community members. It is not a grant workshop, but an opportunity to work together to raise the statewide profile of Inland Northwest arts and artists. Because you can't win if you don't submit!
Drop In and Apply with Spokane Arts will be an on-going monthly program at Spark Central every Third Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. beginning February 20th, offering artists and creatives of all disciplines an opportunity to take the time to apply for grants, residencies, and other artist opportunities. Use resources from Spokane Arts and Spark Central to find opportunities to apply for, refine your artist statement and resume, and be a part of a supportive community of creatives that are doing the work to put their work out into the world!
